Dear Friends of Steve,
I want to share an important update regarding my Dad. Today, he begins two weeks of highly focused radiation treatments called SRS (Stereotactic Radiation Surgery). Dr. Vanderwalde at West Cancer Center here in Memphis is overseeing this process and is very hopeful that the radiation will kill the tumor. This is a rare treatment for the type of cancer Dad has, and if it works, his case may even be written about in future medical journals.
We are asking you to please pray with us during these next two weeks. Pray for no complications, that Dad’s body will respond well, and that his strength will be sustained. Right now, he is very weak and heavily medicated due to intense pain. He asked me to let you know that he sees your calls, texts, and emails, and he is deeply grateful for each one, even if he is unable to respond. Over the coming weeks, he will likely be even more fatigued, so it may be some time before you hear from him directly.
I’ve attached a picture of our family taken just a week ago when I rang the bell after my last chemotherapy treatment (Breast Cancer). Dad mustered up the strength to be there, rejoice with us, and even brought me flowers. It was such a tender reminder that God is showing up for our family in the middle of these hard days.
We are deeply thankful for your friendship and your prayers — we truly feel them. These next two weeks are crucial, and we are asking God for another miracle. Dad has seen God do it before, and we are trusting He can do it again.
With gratitude,
Angela Strange, CCHF Communications Director
