Loyal Love (a word study) - URMCCF 11/10

Happy Sunday y'all,

Last week, Idorenyin lead us on an amazing discussion on the word 'Anger'. Together we learned:

It's okay to be angry. Anger is a human emotion. However, when we let anger control us, and simmer in us unacknowledged, that's when it leads to sin (Ephesians 4:26)

While God does get angry too (often to ensure justice is served), the Bible frequently describes him as slow to anger (Exodus 34:6) Why is He this way? To give us all room to repent (2 Peter 3:9). Also, I'm sure after watching the quadrillion-th human mess up for the 1000th time, you develop a bit of bandwidth perhaps, and patience. But even for those of us without infinity's perspective, with some time and introspection, you learn to 'trust the process' and not get super worked up over actions & traits ubiquitous in ourselves and mankind.

At the end of the day, love calls us to see that we are quite like those we get angry at, and Wisdom calls us to extend the same grace we received (or hoped to receive) in those times to others, as called for.

Tomorrow, starting promptly at 6:30PM, ​Sidd will be leading us on a word study centered on ​the words "Loyal Love".
