Last week, we had a lively discussion on the parable of the talents (Matt. 25). Together, we saw that:

Comparison can have us prematurely undervaluing God's greatest blessings deposited in each of us and in those around us. Worth in God's kingdom isn't determined by who has "more"

<li style="font-family: Aptos; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(33, 33, 33); align-self: start; list-style-type: "- ";">

God often chooses 'the least' to express and demonstrate his highest, fullest power. Like the mustard seed of Matt 13:32, perhaps the servant with one talent had been given the most. He just couldn't see it
because he was living in fear rather than in love. And, as fear tends to do, his fear produced the exact outcome feared.

<li style="font-family: Aptos; font-size: 12pt; color: rgb(33, 33, 33); align-self: start; list-style-type: "- ";">

So, is God unfair? After all, he says, 'whoever has will be given more...Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken.'
Cruel, right? Perhaps. Or you could look closer and see that having more isn't about the amount received, but having the eyes to see the immense wealth in simple, simple "small" things; to see the world through love's eyes. With those kind of eyes, even a
simple parable is wise, and even just one talent is large--the largest gift, in fact--because it requires the most love, the most faith--your very last in fact -- to unlock.

The talent in the parable could symbolize many things, but simply put, it's a seed (Matthew 13 gets into this). Do you appreciate where you're blessed to be right now or who you're blessed to be around? When
life's holding up a mirror at you or you've heard the Word or learned something new, do you let it change you? Do you let it bear fruit?
